I’ve had a lot of sleepless nights this week as a result of Eesa’s teething! So as the husband is out and the kids are snoring away I thought I would chill out and make a home made mask to put a little glow back in to my dreary skin!
I decided to go for a more traditional mask, a turmeric* one (Really popular in India). It’s really simple and easy to whip up, and after 20 minutes of it on your face, you can really tell the difference, as your skin is glowing! It’s safe to do once a week, and after a few weeks of use, you’ll see the difference in your skin.
So here’s what I used:
(I can’t give credit to where I got this recipe from sadly, but when I remember where I got it from will write it here 🙂 )
Mix together all the ingredients until you get a paste:
- 1 teaspoon of Turmeric
- 1 Egg yolk
- 1 tablespoon of Milk
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon of Flour
- (add more milk if it is too try or more flour if it’s too watery)
Before you apply it to your face, apply a test patch on your arm or face for 15 minutes or so, just incase it stains
(which it shouldn’t but I don’t want you coming back to me saying you look like a Minion!!! *blush*)
Once you know you’re all good to go, apply it to your face and neck…let it sit for 20 minutes (it should be dry before removing)
Use a wet cloth to remove it, then dry your face, tone and moisture.
Voila, your skin should feel cleaner and so much more brighter…try it every week and each time you’ll see an improvement.
*Turmeric is one of my favourite spices, and this is the one that goes into a lot of my home remedies as it has a lot of healing properties, i.e.; 1tbsp of honey and 1/4 tsp of turmeric works wonders for a sore throat or if you’ve got a really bad cut, sprinkle some turmeric over it for a temporary fix to control the bleeding!
