Depending on what shape you go for, most likely this will need more of your help and assistance from your child.
You could design a star, a pretty window or whatever you like, it’s really quite simple.
We decided to make a sun catcher of a mosque, living in the Middle East you come across many beautiful ones, and it gave us the opportunity to use lots of colours.
What you need: Print out of desired shape. Stanly knife, chopping board, coloured cellophane, glue, paint.
This is how to make your own, find an image that you want, I simply googled ‘Mosque Print out template’ I then used a chopping board and stanly knife and cut out the windows, doors and dome.
Yousuf (3) and I then painted the parts I couldn’t cut out and let it dry, then we filled in the gaps I did cut out with coloured cellophane (I used PVC glue to stick it down) I let Yousuf choose the colours and help with the glue too.
Once all parts are glued down, let it dry then stick it up on a window where the sun sets and shines through the window…
Then look out for the reflection on your furniture and watch it as it gradually moves as the sun sets, point out the colours, and reflection to your child and enjoy the fascination.
